While it sounded like it might be good, it was not. A Reuben belongs on a regular sandwich size slice of Rye bread - I see online they now offer a Rye sub bread, but it was not an option when I placed my order and it still looks like it would be too much bread to meat ratio. The meat was all rolled up instead of laid out in slices on a typical Reuben which made it texturally unappealing.
The sauerkraut a good taste and crunchy on its own, but it made the bread soggy. The addition of Swiss Cheese didn't add anything to the sandwich and neither did the sauce. Overall,it did not have a much flavor but with too much bread, too much meat and too soggy to enjoy. It is not something I would recommend or will purchase again.
The price was not enticing either - it was over $8 and high in calories - 1/2 of the sub is 470 calories , so if you eat the entire sandwich it is well over 900 calories. For around the cost and a few calories more calories, you have a Meatball Marina, which is a better and more filling sandwich and you really don't need more than a 6-inch sub.
They do offer Turkey version of the Reuben, but I think that makes it not really a Reuben anymore.
