Urban Decay Says Goodbye to the Original Naked Palette
Urban Decay announced 2 day ago that they are retiring their original palette that stared the whole "Naked" craze after it launched in mid-2010. Above is a video they put out about it that I think has too much sexual innuendo as they primarily market their products to 15-30 year olds,
I only buy products from Urban Decay when they are on sale and I had never purchased this before as the price point was $54. I had never this product seen it go on sale anywhere until now a price of $27, which works out to be $2.25 per pan/color.
After the announcement, It sold out almost the same day on Urban Decay. The only place I found it available was at Macy's for $27, which I just ordered, as it is $27 + tax with free standard shipping.

Urban Decay - Today Only - Get a Free Distortion Stash Bag With 2 Deluxe Free Samples With Any Order
Photo: Urban Decay website
Top O' the day to you.
Today only, Urban Decay has a promotion where you can score a free Distortion stash bag with 2 deluxe free samples with the promotional code GETLUCKY.
I purchased a Concealer (and it is vegan) that is on sale for $10, which is half price as it normally is $20 and entered the code and it indicated I will receive a Revolution Gloss Deluxe and a Perversion Mascara Deluxe samples
You can also score free shipping (I saved $8.00 in shipping on this order) by joining UD Urban Decay Junkies program for free and also earn points and one you get 100 you can save $10 on your next purchase.
I took a pass on Urban Decay's products initially as it is geared to younger women and has some very exotic colors. However, after trying several of their products over the past year or so have found they have a many of products that could be used by women of any age.

As today is National Lipstick Day, for today only Urban Decay has 13 of their Lipsticks 50% off.
Although my lipstick purchases have started to overtake the right side of my bathroom drawer, I always figure there is room for one more or to carry in my purse of or to keep my desk at work.
If you want to have an idea of what the shade will look like on you, all you have to do is click on the "Try This Shade On" after you have clicked on the picture of the lipstick and it will take you to another screen where you can upload your photo.

Here is a sample of Venom which is a bright plum cream lipstick. Because you don't make any adjustments to the photo it doesn't give your lips a realistic look, it does give you a good idea how the shade will look on your skin tone, so still a very useful tool.
In trying on all of the sale lipsticks I found the shade below, Phone Call, which is a sheer bright pink that I normally would never have considered.
So if you have ever wanted to try out Urban Decay's Lipsticks now is the chance to do so for half price. Before purchasing, be sure that you join UD Junkies to get free shipping and earn points.

Urban Decay Brow Box - Brown Sugar - Review
I had blogged about the $9 sale on Urban Decay's Brow Box, which normally cost $30 and I decided to order it to check it out and purchased the "Brown Sugar" Duo, which is slightly darker than the "Honey Pot" that they offer as I have my hair dyed a dark color.
"Honey Pot looks to be more for blondes and "Brown Sugar" for Brunettes. I ordered it online and it took 1 week for it to arrive.
I didn't take any pictures before I trying it, but inside are the two brow powders, which ar at the top, and the wax, which is at the bottom. There is a normal mirror above.
It did not come with instructions, or if they were on the box it was too dark and too small for me to read. I only know from purchasing an ELF brow kit that the wax in the past, the wax should go on first and you should use both colors to dab on your eyebrows to fill areas that you need for a more natural look.
The top level opened easily.
The bottom level has a magnifying mirror on the top, two brushes, which probably one is for the was and the other for the powder, and a tiny pair of tweezers. The brushes work great, but the tweezers take a little getting used to as they are so tiny, but they do work.
One problem I did had was opening up the bottom level. I end up having to put my thumb nail under the lever to get it to open, which is a hassle.
Below is a pic of the product in use on my eyebrows, which are very thin before. I had heard somewhere that your eyebrows don't need to look like twins, just sisters, for a natural appearance, so that is what I was going for.
The colors are highly pigmented and glide on easily.
The picture is a close-up, but from a distance, it looks much more natural than in this photo, but overall it looks fairly natural. Normally my eyebrows are very thin so to me it was a drastic change, but the only comment I got after doing this was someone asked if I had done something with my hair.

Pros:

Pros:
- Small, compact all-in-one brown kit.
- The case has 2 different shades, one wax, two brushes and a small pair of tweezers.
- The case has two mirrors, one regular and one magnifying
- The colors are highly pigmented and glide on easily.
- Produces fairly natural look
Cons:
- Bottom level tends to stick and hard to open. Because of this reaching for an eyebrow pencil instead is quicker and easier.
- If purchased when not on sale, would be $30.
- No instructions (or if there were there, box is too dark and lettering too small to read,
Summary:
To me, the kit was worth $9, but I doubt I would pay $30 when there are similar products on the market that are much less expensive.
